Physical Signs That You Are Ovulating

1. Egg-White Cervical Mucus

As estrogen surges before ovulation, cervical fluid becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy, resembling raw egg whites. This fluid helps sperm swim efficiently toward the egg.

2. Basal Body Temperature Rise

After ovulation occurs, progesterone increases, causing a slight sustained rise in resting body temperature (~0.5°F to 1.0°F) until your next period.

3. Mittelschmerz (Ovulation Pain)

Some women experience mild, one-sided lower pelvic twinges or aching when the mature follicle ruptures to release the egg.

4. LH Surge Test Strips

Over-the-counter ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) detect Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in urine, which surges 24 to 36 hours prior to ovulation.
